Default Common Loon in Golden light

One thing photographers talk about is "sweet light" it's mentioned all the time while in the field or discussing an old photo opportunity etc. I am telling you guys, this image of a Common Loon was taken in some SWEET LIGHT! He had been feeding the baby behind him and the lil fella couldn't choke down the Sunfish as it was a bit too large, so he changed gears and headed towards the other baby. Photo taken in central Minnesota this spring.

Amazing lighting and great composition. Just wished the baby was a bit more visible. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful image and dream light here
The loon looks so great , catch in the big is a big add on and the chick popping out from the back takes it over the top
i love the IQ here and the eye is nicely exposed here. Lovely image all around

You're weren't kidding about golden light, and it lit up your adult very nicely and shows off the catch well. I wish you could see a tad more of the chick.

    Mike:

    Sorry I missed this one.

Wonderful light, fish a plus, like the chick peaking over the back, soft but recognizable background.

Were you shooting from land, boat, kayak?

    Cheers

    Hi Randy,

I was in a Jon boat approx 4 inches of the top of the water.

Thanks Mike! Hard to beat a small jon boat for this kind of photography!
