    Shot this yesterday morning with a new (to me) 500 f4. Same treatment plant I've been going to. That extra 100mm makes all the difference.All C&C always welcome.

    Hi Lyle, well exposed, and we have a great view of the far wing. Having said that a better near wing position would have put this up a few notches. The stilt pops so well against the sweet BG.

    Gorgeous in all regards. You nailed the exposure imo. I enjoy the mud on the feet, as a nice detail.

    Fantastic pose and background!! Lovely colours. I agree a bit more sharpening for web presentation would be good.

    Congrats on the new toy! Although the IQ is better with this lens (I compare with my 100-400) I feel the extra reach, especially combined with an extender, is the main benefit...you'll enjoy it!!

    Thanks, totally agree on the extra focal length. IQ is better but not world changing.
