Canon EOS-1D Mark II N, Shooting Date/Time 5/2/2008 09:45:05, Shutter Speed 1/4Sec. That's right! I used a tripod with cable release. Av(Aperture Value) F8.0, Evaluative metering, Exposure Compensation 0, ISO 640, Lens: EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM, Focal Length: 300.0 mm.
Another one from the York Center For Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. There were construction workers talking loud, hammering, using saws just 20 feet outside the closed in enclosure, it was stressful to say the least on me and the bird. He would fly back and forth had big eyes, a sign of stress. So I stayed for 15 minutes then left. We were trying to get some new images in order to sell them to raise funds to build a better home for him. So we had to compromise some. He is non-releasable, but a good subject normally.

The GHO looks a bit soft.....did the point of focus fall on the board/talons in front? I'd like a little more room on the top but he's such a beautiful bird. Hope you get back to see him.....on a calm day.
I'm pretty sure the focal points fell on the chest just below the beak. But with 1/6th shutter speed by cable release, it 's good for what I was going through. They will use it to sell and make a few dollars. In time I will go back for better ones. And I appreciate your observations Lana. So for a different look after thinking some more on it, how is the portrait style with more head room and a few levels tweaks?

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah...at that speed I understand. I like it with added room at the top. Great job helping out a worthy organization. Glad that you'll be able to get back......he is a beautiful bird.
