    Hello Peter, this is one impressive male lion and you have captured a great pose there from him! Have you cropped this image at all or is it full frame? I would have loved to see more of his mane! Beautiful and lots of detail, I like this! Makes me want to join you and post a B/W portrait of a lion too...

    Hi Peter - this works very well. Excellent detail and dof, I just wish the other pupil was visible but maybe this way gives him more character.

    I like the dark mane at the bottom and how it elevates the face.
    The funny position of the brow on our LHS gives him a "pirate" look
    Good tonal range and hint of warm toning.
