Hi Ian, well exposed, and well timed to capture both the preening behaviour, and the raised leg. I feel adding a touch more contrast will make this pop nicely. Comp wise, I feel a traditional landscape would work better with this pose - add a touch more to the right, and a bit more space on the LHS.

Nice preening pose, excellent feather details and nice background, Ian.

I also think a landscape crop would look nice.
Nice pose, a bit of rotation maybe?

    Great shot Ian.
I really like the preening pose, great shooting angle, and I like the repost.
    Well done.

Magnificent image of preening bird. I like both the compositions.
Love the standing pose with nice head turn and beautiful eye, colors and sharpness.

I prefer the landscape too. Nice coy pose for sure and I like how the colors stand out against that background. I think the image may need a slight CCW rotation.
