This was the prettiest shorter fence post I could find along that particular strecth of country road. I say "shorter" because if the posts are too tall I cannot get the nice BG colours of the fields from my position in the car. Full-frame imnage, audio used.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4 TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/100s., f/8, ISO 800, natural light, handheld with lens resting on car window opening, basic levels and saturation, tmaed the brights on the back of the head via burn tool, usual eye work.

Dan...I was out also photographing Bobolinks. Love these birds.

One question...you mentioned you used audio...what speaker are you using?

Great selection of fence post. And the bird's not bad either. Good job on a tough exposure. Some day I'll get one of these guys.

Awesome birds aren't they! I'm using the "iMaingo" speaker, it is designed specifically for ipod touch / iphone. Great sound, even the lower "bass" sounds excellent (e.g American Bittern).

Hi Dan, if thats the remains of a fence post, its pretty old, but certainly lots of detail and character. I like the high placement, well exposed on the Bobolink, and yes, that BG is smooth and sweet.

Great pose, perch, and BG ... pretty much perfect!

Only tweaks I would consider are to decrease sharpening a bit on the perch and tone down the BG a bit.
