This pair was photographed at Torrey Rim (8655 ft) in the Whiskey Basin Wildlife Habitat Management Area in Dubois, WY last December. This area holds the largest wintering herd of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep in the world and this day sure didn't disappoint. It was a rather treacherous ride to the top but what a dream come true once there. We were able to witness and photograph the sheep frolicking, nursing, grazing and mating. It was truly a treat. For this image, I was lying flat on my belly on a rock using a bean bag and hand holding.
