This Barred Owlet had fledged earlier in the day and was fairly high in a busy tree. This was the only clean shot, and it wasn't an easy one. I stood as close to the tree as possible. Since my head would not allow me to shoot straight up, I had to take the front foot of my tripod off of the ground and lean back to get this image. Decided to put the owlet in the corner for a unique perspective. I just love the way it's looking down at me curiously.

Feisol tripod, Jobu head, no flash

C & C always welcomed and much appreciated.

Marina, this is such a cool Image! My 9 yr old daughter just loved it! Great perspective & innovative technique shooting straight up! Well done!

Great job on a difficult angle! I'm mesmerized by her right eye and the fluffiness of those feathers. I really like the way you cropped it. Really a fun, storytelling image.

Unique look and definitely worth the trouble.
The comp is just right, I would just try to tone down the highlights in the BG and maybe desaturate the Green a bit.

I love the way this cutie is looking straight at you and is set off nicely by the back lit background leaves. Beautiful image Marina.

very cool Marina! nice look and details, good job working with the steep angle and coming out with something different! I would be tempted to "repair" the tip of the large leaf on the right!

I love this Marina. I showed it to my wife and she liked it more than I do! I agree with Dan's assessment. I suppose I agree with Arash's point-- now that I noticed it, I keep noticing it.

That is quite different, not sure I would have thought of going for something like this! As cute as the subject is the image works because of the balance offered by the leaves at right. I kinda wish the BG bright spots were not as bright...but this image is a huge smile maker and for that it achieves its' goal
