    Default Hawk at ISO 12800

Shot taken under cloudy & rainy skies at 8:30 pm. This hawk was plucking a Dove in my backyard for dinner. Shot taken at ISO 12800

That's a pretty impressive image esp at such a high ISO. You can tell that coopers was really tearing that prey up and down. I just so wish, as I am sure you do too, that the BG were a bit better. That said, however, well done on capturing this behavior/action and doing what you had to do in terms of techs.

Looks great at such a high ISO. I could do without the brown and black stuff in the background upper right. I love the face-full of feathers. Why had you set such a high ISO?

I just wanted to test the camera out. The light & rain did not help under the circumstances.

Thanks Mike. Good answer as I have been there and done that.

Mike, impressive image at such high ISO. Love the wet look of the hawk and the feathers in his face. Loi

I test a camera out on common subjects or situations...here you are testing on a dream raptor feeding frenzie! Nice low angle, sharpness, and the rain adds alot. I only wish the BG was better. Well done.
