    Default Damsel in the morning

I don't know how it is in the rest of the world, but here in Europe/the Netherlands it is terrible this year with the amount of insects like this. We had such a cold spring that it really affects the amount of insects now. This is my first macro of the year, which last year was 2 months earlier.

A slow start but a first class image, what an absolute gem, excellent composition, I like the dew and the subtle colours, focus is good - just a tad soft on the tip of the tail, a really pleasing shot - well done.

Hi Thijs, the weather has been terrible indeed, but I see the damselflies and dragonflies emerging quite quickly now. You've got a very good capture here, although the tail and the lower end of the perch look quite soft. Also, I feel that the colorful and bright flowers on the left are competing for attention a bit with the damselfly. The soft pastel BG is lovely. Well done!

Hi Thijs. Sharp and well composed with an excellent background. All the little dew drops add interest to the image. Very nicely done!

Very nice picture and the dew makes it special

With talk of the cold and the back legs not quite grabbing the stem, i thought this was frozen and not covered in water drops

    Thanks for sharing
