Fast little shorebirds these are. I managed just a few frames of one in the early morning stillness of Ding Darling last November. I thought this one was sort of fun.

This is pretty amazing, Bill. In fact I have never seen such perfect reflection of a flying bird, never mind a fast flying bird like a Plover. Well Done.

I was gonna say that this is one of my least favorite wing positions but when I scrolled down as saw the reflection I quickly changed my mind. For reasons unknown to me it works really well here. Sharp with a perfect exposure.

This is a very unique image Bill, nice and sharp. I don't think I have ever seen one with zero detail in the water like this.

    Bill,

Not sure how you were able to keep track of this guy. Your series from Ding Darling has been great, and if I recall correctly, you had some stunning willets in flight as well!

This is awesome Bill. I agree with Arthur's point. Usually this wing position is deleted in my files, but it works really well here.

Thank you everyone. What's amazing is how clean the water was in this particular time and place. I've been known to make heavy use of the clone tool, but on this image I only removed one small blurry insect; the rest is straight out of the camera (plus some cropping and USM, of course). I agree about the wing position. I certainly would have preferred full up or down.
