    Default Mystical Morning

This is a scene from sunrise in Cades Cove, May 2012. I used Red Giant Photo Looks with 2 different presets on 2 layers, then added a little fog at the bottom with Color Efex. The colors and "diffused glow" have been intensified a good bit from the original. It was a "magical" scene to my eyes and I only got off two shots before the rays disappeared into the mist as I was driving on Sparks Lane when I came upon it.

Hi Judy...I like the composition here and your processing looks good to me. I an not familiar with Red Giant...Was this the main process to intensify the fog?

Thanks Bob. There was a lot of fog where the sun was peaking through so that wasn't really intensified but it was diffused more which is sort of the same thing, if that makes sense. Photo Looks also changed the color a bit to be more orange/yellow. I only added fog at the bottom of the image using Color Efex where there wasn't any to speak of so it would match the rest of the scene and not be so dark. The fog lightened it maybe half a stop.

Very nice Judy. It has been a whole lot of years since I have been to the Smokies, but I do remember iconic scenes like this. I love the diffuse, atmospheric look and the color palette. The bands of color radiating from the sun are super.
