My wife and I usually go to Carden Alvar to see some special birds, such as Upland Sandpiper which breeds there. Part of it is going to be a Provincial Park very soon in an effort to save some of the grassland species. It is a good news. Here is an Upland Sandpiper image. Thanks for looking. Excellent image, Karl! Great pose, wonderful BG, and perfect comp ... great species as well ... have never seen one but high on my list of desired subjects!
Brilliant composition and I really like the perch- it fills the image. The proportions here are so aesthetically pleasing to the viewer. So are the colors in the background, stunning image overall, congratulations!
Lovely shot of this Uppie, Karl. The singing, wings-up pose is wonderful, as is the layered BG. I know this species is noted for singing from fenceposts, but they're rarities around here and I've only seen one foraging in the grass. Congrats on a fine shot.
Love, love, love the BKGR and the raised wings singing pose.

Karl amigo I believe this is one of your best! love the light, pose, clariry and raised wings! Glad to hear that that area is going to be protected and hoping many species will have a place to live and breed!
