    Here's another image that I took using a UV filter that I had sprayed with hair spray. It was taken at night, straight out of the camera except I added some grain in Lightroom.

    Hi Cheryl...interesting effect!...only wish the boat mast was more isolated.....may not have been possible

    You sprayed a filter with hair spray ? Since you added grain in Lightroom, I can't be sure exactly what the hair spray does.

    That's cool Cheryl, the hairspray makes an interesting diffusion that is kind of random. I like the look. Been wanting to get out and do some night shooting myself, thanks for the reminder!

    Hi, Nancy, it diffuses the light and gives it a soft glow.

    Very interesting Cheryl. Don't know if I'd have the nerve to use HS on a filter! Have you tried this during daylight? It does soften the light and made the lights very subdued.
