So, Adobe Cloud! I was just slapped in the face with the fact that without photoshop, I will not have access to my layered TIFF files! YIKES! I know that I could use the earlier versions of PS for a long time and access them but only if I have working copies and new windows OS's continue to support them. I can envision having a system crash or a theft and having to buy new versions of window's and seeing that I can't use CS3,4,5! What a mess! This software subscription trend is just wrong!
What does one do, save flattened versions of the TIFF'S, which could be used with other editing software?
I guess one could, in the above catastrophic events, start over with the raws in some other editing software also.
How about keep a copy of Windows 7 and PS in a safe place so you can install them any time in the future (perhaps using virtualisation).
Failing that, if your set up bites the dust but you somehow have your TIFs, pay for licence.
Actually, the new model is great for your scenario as your software can be used on a new pc quickly after catastrophic failure.
But I can understand the various frustrations with the "cloud" model of software subscription to those of us who do not tend to upgrade with every version offered (I just recently upgraded from to CS6 from CS2!)
