Greater Flamingos

Isolated these two birds from a flock with evening light falling on them. They are two Juveniles taken at Bundala wild life park, Sri Lanka.
D800 500mm F4 + 1.4TC F5.6 1/400 ISO500 from a vehicle on bean a bag. Cropped and another small bird cloned from front, shadow/highlights, levels and curves adjusted. NR on BG and birds SHP.

Hiran....A nice shot of some white flamingoes. The only flamingoes I have ever seen are all pink and red. I think you have nice sharpnes and the bg is handled nicely. I am wondering if the bg were just a bit darker if the birds would stand out more! TFS

I noticed the light seems to come from the front and the eyes/face are in slight shadows. I really like this photograph...when I first saw it I was moved...very nice...balanced frame and simple elements with a beautiful habitat. Opportunities are to work the head and lighten the eye, try and get in a better position with the light hitting the faces or consider flash. In bird photography when we get a clear, sharp well lit eye the pictures just seem to take off.
Go back and work this again...lots to like here...how large was the crop. Please keep em coming!!

Very attractive shot and birds. I like the feather detail on the body. Good comp, I agree with Jeff about the light on the face, but its a very attractive shot.

Jeoff, Thank you for your advice did learn some very good points. Took the picture in FX mode and cropped around 30%. Appreciate your encouraging thoughts.
