So many great memories and photos from my trip to Ottawa with Daniel Cadieux and Marina Scarr! Here's a shot from my very first encounter with a GGO. I like the habitat and the falling snow in this frame.

What a beautiful image, I love the pose of the subject (was the owl upset for being spotted?) as well as the background, which has a frosty feel to it...However you processed this image it certainly works for me, it gives me the impression that no editing has been done at all...The owl is very sharp in contrast with the background, the eyes and beak so vivid-excellent image Doug, I really enjoyed viewing it!

    Kind regards

Another stunning image of this guy. This one really shows his massive frame, in beautiful habitat. Techs are spot-on. Thanks for sharing one more owl.

Another excellent GGO Doug, I have enjoyed them all. They always look like they are mad.

Excellent again, maybe just a bit more room around.
    They do look intense!

What a crying shame these birds dont migrate across oceans in the off season to somewhere like....say....Australia

Lovely shot, intense stare and like the skeletal twigs to emphasize winter

I'm liking this alot. I like the tension of the leaning pose and chosen placement in the frame. The many little twigs actually work well. Hoping to have at least one or two show up next year!

What a cracker, absolutely superb. I love the image as it is but if there was a little more space around the bird I think it would look even better.

Love the way he's all fluffed up, and the subtle green BG and inclusion of the environmental elements work nicely. He was a very accommodating owl! Snow is gives this image an added boost.
