    Default Razorbill Calling

From our trip to the Isle of May at the Scottish coast last Wednesday. Due to the cold weather in Europe, the seabirds business is about 6-8 weeks late this year. The Puffins are just arriving, we saw very small numbers.

This has an almost humerous mood too it: the happy loud singer, and then the grumpy colleague turning around as if saying "ugh, not again!" The duo pops nicely from the dark background. I'd crop at right to eliminate the OOF rock there, that would strenghten the composition IMO.

These birds are just amazing. I was lucky enough to photograph them on Machias Seal Island and couldn't believe the yellow when they opened their beaks. I agree that the image would be stronger without the rock on the right. I do wish there were more of one of their heads showing or better yet one of their eyes. I think it would make this a more powerful image b/c it would help connect the viewer with the image. Nice to see that pop of yellow. Looking forward to more.
