    D800, 300mm, 2x tc, tripod, flash. This is a setup under cloudy, shady conditions. 1/250, f7.1, ISO 1250. Adjusted exposure +.35 in acr. Cropped and small levels and USM in CS6.

    Jack,
    IQ is first rate as is the perch you used here.
    Woodpecker of course looks great.
    I would prefer the beak above the perch.
    I like the flowers you have added, I would add more.

    Nice set up shot Jack, IQ on bird is very nice indeed and perch is of much interest....although it looks upside down and maybe a little too obviously set up = personal tastes comes into that.
    Two toned backdrop works very nicely as does the hints of foliage and flower buds

    Very nice, great detail and color. This is one of my favorite backyard visitors. I think you nailed this one. The gradient in the BG is so awesome, love it!

    Quite a different look for a red-bellied shot. The perch and flower are very nice; they almost outshine the bird, which is also one of my favorites. Nice to see something different.

    Neat perch! I also like the leaves at lower right corner. As for the flower stem, it is pretty but I would have preferred either more or none at all. I think you can make the eye stand out more too. All else looks good to me...great details and a very appealing BG.
