    Default Sleepy, Little Owl

Cloudy morning a couple of days ago. I came across this cute Little Owl on the trunk of a dead Cork Oak.
This was as close as I could get! They never cease to amaze me, they are ridulously small!

Very nice pose, bg, and details on the tree stump. The bird is well placed in the overall image. I like the sleepy appearance of the owl, and it's a good title. To me the owl seems a little small in the frame, and also a little soft. Perhaps slight local sharpening is indicated.

I like the colors and the little owl on that big trunk but the whole image looks soft to me.

Hi Richard, yes these guys are very small? Did you apply NR to the bird itself? Agreed with the others that the bird is a little small in the frame and looks a little soft. Loi

I agree with the comments already made. Nice sleepy look on the owl. Image could be cropped tighter and contrast bumped up just a bit.

Nice sleepy owl. I agree with comments already made...a bit of a contrast bump and a good round of local sharpening on the owl itself would improve this image substantially.

    Cheers!

    Thanks all

partial reprocess and used Topaz Clarity preset to enhance contrasts/color.

It is a large crop -anyone care to estimate just how much?

    Richard,
It is definitely looking better now. However feathers below the tail feathers looking little odd???.
My estimation about crop, may be around 55-60%.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Nice subject, nice perch as well, Richard. It could use a little more sharpening. The repost is better but I like the BG of the original.
