    Default Tree Swallow

While photographing Eastern Bluebirds their heated rivals, the Tree Swallows, kept encroaching on their territory. Needless to say the bluebirds did not like that too much! Here is one of said swallows resting on a nice spring-time perch. You can see some rain drops sprinkled on it's wing as there was also a very slight drizzle when it was photographed. OOF branch cloned out in upper right corner.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, 1/160s., f/7.1, ISO 640, -1/3 EC, fill-flash @ -2/3 FEC, handheld.

beautiful image Daniel ,,, I love how the greens showed up in the head and wing area , a color that's not easy to capture with this species, it was a great morning and nice to be out again

    Daniel,

The image works well all around for all the reasons mentioned.

The perfect exposure brings out very well all the details and nice colours of the plumage. The head-turn is really great and I love the creamy BG.
    Very well done !

I like everything about this image apart from the fact I think it is too centered but that is being very picky. I love the way its looking at you and the greens on its back are beautiful.
