My neighborhood kites were successful again this year with a brood of four! They are still at the nest tree, which is HIGH! This one is flying around the nest. D800, Nikon 300 f4 + tc1.4, handheld, f7.1 1/3200, 800 iso, cropped to 20mpx.

Dan, excellent image. Love the way the light lit up the underwing and belly of the bird. Very impressive details for such a crop. but at 20 Mp, you still have more pixels than many of us! Did you see the chicks when they were still in the nest or only after they had fledged? I wonder because I've been watching a pair of WTK for the past few months, but am not sure if they are successful or not. Thank you. Loi

Thanks,All. Loi, Yes I did see the young before they fledged but only about a week before. I hadn't been watching closely and actually thought the nest was a failure, but I was wrong! Four chicks!
