Hello all, I posted a male of this parrot two days ago, this is possibly his partner.. same situation, although slightly different camera settings. I have intentionally processed this from memory without looking at the previous post, but the older I get the more I forget how bad my memory is... It will be interesting to see how close the Reds/ colours are between the two postings. 1D4 + 500F4, ISO 1250, 1/1600 sec @ F4. Manual, HH. about 70% full frame. DON

Beautiful bird and BG, IQ looks good. I'd wish for the bird to be front-lit and a more natural perch.

Very nice shot and beautiful bird.
Wonderful background, nice IQ, and great pose.
I would have been nice if it was lit from the oppsite direction.
    Well done.

I dont mind the light direction too much. You got nice details even without direct light and the lit portion does not look too bright anywhere. Also liked the bokeh. One issue I have is the perch :-)

Thanks for the comments guys.. I agree, a poor perch but I'll take it when there was no alternative.. If only we could tell them where to land and what direction to face..

Lovely colors and pose. You did well working with side lighting. At least the perch matches the bird.
