    Default Burrowing Owl Ejecting Pellet

This is the first time I have seen this behavior. A single image does not do justice. The owl heaved several times, raised its shoulders, and finally ejected a large pellet.

Very nice, Loi! Love the behavior! I see a mask problem above and below the bill though. It looks like you masked the bird, adjusted the bg and missed the area behind the hairs? Should be an easy fix. Great otherwise!

Very cool Loi, You found the birds at the Salton Sea. Nice behavioral capture of this owl casting. You must have been pretty close. Great looking details and nice perch and BG. I agree that it needs a reduction in brightness. Very nice find.

This is great! I like the tack sharp pellet mid air as well as the one on the ground!
Very nice to have the owl standing on the mound.

On my monitor the brightness looks perfect.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. Here is a repost with the overall brightness reduced by -10 in PS and thus the masking problem solved. Loi

Excellent behavior captured. I saw this last year as well. I think I have a shot but not nearly as good. the shooting angle, bird parallel to sensor, distant BG...everything looks nice. Good catch by Dan and fix by Ritesh.

Thanks for sharing. that pellet on the ground is good for context.

Hi Loi - I really like this shot! The background is really beautiful, and the angle of the mud bank draws your eye up to the bird.

I did a repost of my Great Horned Owl photo, but no one knows because it's on the second page. Here it is, in case you want to look: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...n-Spanish-Moss

Thanks for commenting on my photos,

Great moment captured. Re-post looks great with the fix. I like the fact that you definitely captured the anguish on the bird's face.
