    Color-wise this is looking way better, Joel, although I think your blacks could go a little blacker. They are looking a bit light but you saw the bird. Perch, pose, comp and BG are very nice.

    Very nice shot.
    I really like the pose, great perch, and very nice background.
    Nice details too.
    Agree on the blacks. They do look a little light.

    Thanks! Also thanks to Don Lacy for helping me with color balance.

    The breast plumage on this particular bird is really not jet black. It has a gray cast to it and even a very light blue cast depending on the light. I think shot portrays it the way it looks in reality to me.

    Lovely composition and bird!... My only suggestion it seems that there is a bit of blur around the top of the head to the neck and under the face of the bird maybe from adding bokeh/blur to the background in post processing?

    Love the perch and BG, nice details. I'd perhaps saturate the eye a bit more, but I am happy with what this looks overall. I'd also likely burn the paler small spot touching the back of the head.
