I wanted to share this special moment with all of you.Not one of my best technically but a moment I was overjoyed to capture. I was shooting this pair of chicks anticipating the fledging of the girl. She flew and I was so happy to have gotten the shot. Notice her brother looking out of the cavity. This was the third time I witnessed a fledging and it is always such a special thing for me . Go little one GO!!!

Nice shot, Cheryl! How cool to be able to see and photograph such an amazing moment. How long did you have to wait?

You get big points for all of your patience on this one, Cheryl. What a terrific moment this must have been to witness and even more so to have captured. I love the little flash of pink under her wings. She sure does look a tad petrified. The fact that the little boy is still in the cavity really tells a great story. Congratulations on this one!

Hi Chris. It was definitely a cool thing for me to get. There were three chicks and the first one fledged the day before. I waited all morning for her to go and I missed the shot when I took my eyes off for one second. I was not a happy camper. So... I went back the next morning and just patiently waited ,finger on the trigger, no blinking this time and BAMM!!~! she was gone and I got two frames. The second clipped the wing. I was so happy: I went back the next morning to try and catch the boy but he just teased me all morning. I left at around 11 Am and he was gone the next morning. Very cool experience. Thanks Marina , as you know they were a lot of fun to shoot and definitely little cuties
