Nice background, gives a good idea of the habitat.

Hard to get these fellows perched like this. Nice catch. I liked the BG but I might crop a tad from the top. Bird is nice but can use one round of sharpening. Well done on the shooting angle.

I find the light a bit harsh and the grasses quite distracting.
I wish you had been at aperture 5.6 to blur out the BG and those grasses. Why were you at f13? Bright light?
A sweet little bird and I look forward to more pictures in better light,

    Very nice shot.
I really like the pastel colors in the background.
Great pose of a bird I have not seen before.
    Well done.

thanks steve, kaustubh, gail and robert,
@ gail - was using a tc on f5.6 making it an f8 lens wide open, changed it to f13 to emphasize little bit of the grass in the background, these guys come to these mounds at about 11-11:30 am and leave in the evening to feed, have'nt been able to locate where they disappear at the time of good light, so have to make do with the harsh light.

My favorite part of this image is definitely your BG which I find full of movement and so artistic. Yes, it's stronger than your subject but it complements your subject. I wouldn't mind seeing your bird just a tad higher in the frame if you have the extra canvas.
