    It was a great night when we found a Whip-poor-will perched on a thin branch and singing.

    Nice flash work, composition and pose, Alan. I don't recollect ever seeing a shot of this bird in a calling pose. Awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing.

    It is amazing to get one calling and the eyes are open. I don't recall ever seeing a picture like this before. Great work, Alan.

    Wow! What a catch! A bird I have only read about.
    Congrats on this awesome find with such a clean environment.
    I find that there is a flashed look and might decrease the brightness of the bird a bit.
    I love the little foot and the hairs around the beak.
    I would so love to have this in my files but even more to have the privilege of seeing him in real life.

    Firstly I never actually realized a Whip-poor-will was a Owl type bird, very similar to what we call a Nightjar.

    Nicely done I think, the detail especially the fine hairs around the beak are extra good, love the calling posture with open beak. Maybe a tad over flashed judging mostly by the bright twigs
