In a recent post in the "Eager to Learn" I posted an image of this captive bird at Willowbank which I felt had a slightly " wooden" look.
In that image I used noise reduction but in this latest post noise reduction was not used.

For the first time I see a bit of the screen fence so this one must have been more difficult to photograph. Interesting bird.....and the brown color does resemble a carved duck. It's a litte tight and would have been better without the blades of grass but the duck is pretty well exposed and sharp. I'd try for this one again. Are there any birds there that aren't behind a fence?
Thanks Lana
At Willowbank most birds are either in the large walk thro' aviary like the Keas, Black Swans, Crested Pigeons and Barbary Doves where depending on location there may be no obvious signs of fencing or else behind wire fencing which is tricky. There are sometimes a pair of Wood Ducks behind a low fence but not much else.
I do prefer photography of wild birds at the estuaries at high tides.
The Keas and Asian Small Clawed Otters and NZ Falcon are the ones which keep me going back to Willowbank.I have a years pass !!!!
