    Default Burrowing Owl with Dinner

    Attached Images Attached Images

Another flight image of a Burrowing Owl. This one has dinner!

    1/3200
    f5.6
    ISO-640
BLUBB Bean Bag from car window
Almost full frame, took a sliver off the Left and Bottom for comp.

There is a large shadow of a dirt mount here, which I don't know what to do about it. Tried to lighten it, but it does not look goos, so left it alone.

    Appreciate your comments

    Thank you!

Great flight shot Loi - I'd probably clone out the distracting shadow below the bird - but it's still a lovely image,
    Cheers, Greg

Loi you have started nailing these in air fantastically, this one is even better than before due to the catch
Sharp where it needs to be

excellent image. lovely eye contact & the prey is a bonus.
Colors & IQ are great with the wing blur giving enough sense of motion.

Nice flight shot, and those eyes really pop. I think it would be worth trying it without the shadow.

Great head on flight, lovely and sharp on the head. No great expert with PS but I would just use the clone tool to remove the shadow, you have lots of blurred sand to work with.

Not easy to pull off, and you have the face tack sharp as posted. Nice warm tones throughout. From your OP I'd be inclined to take more off the left and top. The shadow can indedd be removed or lessened with the clone tool using a sof brush and a low opacity such as 30-40% and multiple passes (but not too many as to change the texture which the clone tool does when used too aggressively).

Hi Daniel, I will give it a try later, still busy shooting today! Satish's RP got rid of it entirely and showed the bird well. I will go with that recommendation. Thank you.

    Hi Loi,
Great incoming pose and details, BO's fly fast and it's a challenge to get them sharp incoming. You did well

You can remove the shadow using the content-aware fill in CS6. very easy. The repost has made the image cleaner but the triangular lump of mud looks unrealistic to the eye. the cloning is also visible. you can use a brush with larger feather radius to clean it up
