    Default Scottish Highlands Siskin

Just arrived in the Scottish Highlands for a weeks bird photography. This was taken within the first hour of arriving.

Processed in DPP and photoshop. Cloned out a branch, levels and USM 35,0.3. I've added this through flickr as there's not much signal up here.

    Canon 7D, 500 + 1.4X, 1/640, F7.1, +2/3ev. Comments always appreciated.

Simon, lovely smooth bkg and nice lichen covered perch, subject is great too! Wishing for a slightly better head angle but over all a great shot. The rings don't bother me at all. Have a great time on your week off. Looking forward to seeing more from this trip. Cheers.

Lovely BG, perch and details on your bird. I wish he were facing toward the viewer a little more. I would sharpen the bird a little more esp around the head. I am seeing a teenie bit of motion blur in the beak.
