LR4 adjustments to WB, blacks, spot sharpening. Cropped in about 25%

He was standing straight on to me. The composition was a little tricky, since he was standing on a hill.
I choose to level off the horizon. CC welcome.

Adorable image, and I would love to see this little chap's eyes Have you got more on him? The background is superb and I like the colours, a very attractive photograph to view. I normally avoid placing my subject in the middle of the frame but in this case it does not bother me that much. Have you considered trying a vertical crop?

Great sighting and capture, looking forward to more!

...and the title is really cool!!!

    Kind regards

The light here is great and I like how the horizon is a soft line. I have to agree with Gabriela on both points being the center position seems to work here. I would also love to see some eye.

Different perspective. You have a nice low angle and good light. I think I would have gone for a vertical here since what you are focusing on is that interesting straight on view and how that beak is so prominent. The eyes are there but difficult to see b/c they are so well camouflaged.

Thanks for the healthy pointers. I am going to have to be watchful with trying the vertical composition for this portrait.
