Apologies for not posting in a long time. I have been too busy at work and havent done bird photography in many moons. I did a short family trip to south texas last week. Between making sand castles, I was able to find some time to photography the birds :-) limited time really...but an hour on a south texas beach is better than an year here!

Least tern from South Padre Island.

    40D. 400 f5.6L. iso 400. 1/2000. f/7.1. manual exposure.

    All C&C welcome and appreciated.

Glad to see you back to your old low POV tricks. Beautiful shot of this Least Tern, with great pose and bg. The object on the left balances it nicely for me. Exposure and color balance look perfect, but I'm feeling the need for just a touch of saturation on the bill and feet -- tI think of these guys as having a really bright yellow bill. (Or maybe my screen's dusty.) In any case, it's a beautiful image and comp.

KD, this is quite a beautiful image! Great low angle, clean sand, techs. Body and head angles are perfect, and the raised foot adds alot.

Hi KD, lovely low angled pose, and I do like the soft light. Overall well exposed, especially on the black cap, and glad you left the shell.

This is a fine low angle image, the ocean in Bg completes the scene. IMHO a bit of saturation might give the bird a bit more color.

Several subtle details add up to a great image here. Head angle, subject movement, perfect dof for
subject(s), pleasing little bit of shadow play...sweet frame of this species sir.

Absolutely superb image,Kusuthb. Very nice low angle, nice lights and composition.
Love the pose with raised foot, beautiful HA,colors and details. Shadow of the tern and shell or whatever it is,has balanced the frame superbly.
BTW very nice BG and FG.

superb shooting angle, light & IQ. especially like the bird's purposeful stride towards of the shell.
The tip of the beak looks a bit soft, but a minor thing.
