Another really nice photo Freddy! Interesting and beautiful perch. What is it? And where is Elephant Head?

Beautiful colour and very interesting perch (Euphorbia?). On nit is I see a strange thin blue line to the left of the head of the bird.

I have no idea John. I think it could have come from the healing tool. I never saw it.

Doug, Elephant Head is in I believe Pina County in Green Valley Arizona. if you go on the internet and put the name Bill Forbes in his ranch will come up.i did a workshop there a few weeks ago! he has at on of birds on his prop. quite a few Gambel's Quail are there. I spent three days there and shot 8000 images a great deal of them are redundant but I did get a ton of keepers.

Very nice image Freddy. Clean, simple design, with a very interesting perch. I like the background and the head angle is right on. Besides the little blue line, there's some green stuff down by his tail. Very minor stuff. ;)

I really like this one. The raised head feathers and perch (ocotillo, cool plant) are awesome.

Nice work, Fred. The thorny perch adds tension!

Wow, the perch shares co-headlining honours here for sure!! Clean the two spots mentioned already and you have a definite winner :-)

Great lighting and nice and sharp picture. I love the diagonal feel of the unusual perch which give a strong visual impact to the image.

The perch is an Ocotillo branch. Ocotillo, Fouquieria splendens is a native plant in the Sonoran Desert and is not a member of the Cactus family.

Beautiful detail, perch and background Freddy.
