Image of this Velvet Fronted Nuthatch was created in the month of Feb, 2013.
Cropped for composition and sharpened. I am aware, that it is not perfect a picture in terms lights, perch etc,
however I like the true velvety plumage in this light, otherwise it looks blue in color. Applied NR in Neat image to JPG image.
I hope you will like it.

Thanks for viewing and appreciation. C & C are highly appreciated.
    Kind Regards.

This is a absolutely gorgeous, velvety little bird. The first I've seen.
The lighting was about as challenging as it gets.

What area did you spot meter?

Hi Satish, a species I havent seen either. What awesome colour this fellow has, and his head turn shows the yellow against the purple nicely. I feel you have comped this best as is.

Excellent find and good execution in tough conditions. loved the pose.

Is this a big crop? the IQ seems to have suffered a bit.

What a beautiful bird! Are your nuthatches as friendly as the North American ones? I'd love to trade a few...lol

This is my first time to see this bird, velvety it is! I really like the perspective of this shot. It looks like you were shooting from above the bird.

Nicely handled exposure with a tricky lighting scenario. Still, some flash work to balance the ambient light a bit would have been nice here. Gorgeous bird. First time I've ever seen one.

Wow, an all decked-out nuthatch! Nice pose and I like the comp too. Awesome colours but IQ on the details seems degraded a bit as KD points out, and there is odd processing stuff going on in upper right corner and along the contour of the tail. Hoping to see more form this beautiful species!
