    Hello everyone.
Here is shot of this burrowing owl that kept a close look on me. Never really came out of it's burrow.

That foreground is really bugging me...it's too powerful and draws me away from
the owl. Cropping out at least half of it might help. Everything else is great.

    Robert:

The owl is great, with intense stare, sharp.

THe foreground is interesting. When I first saw it I thought he was looking through water.

I might consider a couple of tweaks to the foreground. Cropping as Doug suggested is an option, and I could also see the brightness and contrast toned down so it isn't so overpowering.

    Cheers

Robert, such an intense stare! I like the clean BG, and love the reflection of the sunrise in the owl's eyes. Very sharp. However, the OOF foreground is a significant distraction for me :)

This magnificent image.Great owl behind some thing??...Don't know what is. Very nice colors and details.
If mine I would crop top and bottom.
Love the eyes and wonderful reflection of morning sun.

    Satish - it's a dirt mound from it's burrow.

    Here is repost.

    Love this one!!

I'd go ahead and crop the top halfway down to the head -- it's such an unusual image anyway, go for the in-the-face look! The negative space up there isn't making any contribution.

Hi Robert, whilst scrolling down your image as it was opening, and before reading any of the comments, I had this in mind.

Great light and detail. Superb stare. I guess you could get as many crop suggestions as there are commenters. I might have gone for your pane #7 with half taken off the oof bottom and half taken off the empty top. No matter how you slice it, it's an image worth playing with.

Terrific - very intense pose. There are a few of these near where I live but thusfar haven't had any luck getting good shots. Some day.

I may lessen the empty space above the head just a bit, but otherwise wouldn't change anything.

    Pete
