    In the thread below I listed the visible differences between adult and fledgling Roseate Spoonbills.

    This Roseate Spoonbill is a 'tweener.
    This bird it still has a few feathers on it's head, a remnant of brown on it's wing tips and mostly paste in color. All juvi traits.
    It's eyes are red with lores and tail feathers colored like an adult.

    Wow...terrific top-side view and thanks for the lesson. what I like the most is the placement on the bird in the frame. could not have been better.

    Lovely flight pose and composition, James. Thank you so much for the education. I just love learning new things about my subjects. My favorite thing about this image are the visible toes!

    Hi James, great banking angle showing the dorsal view nicely. Love the yellows on the face, together with the red eye.
