    Huntington Beach, California

    Taken this morning in early light I posted a Horned Grebe in breeding plumage about three weeks ago. Well this is another beautiful grebe species in its mating suit.....:)

    Cool image, James. I'm envious - this is a species still on my wish list. Good colors and nice detail in the blacks. The bird stands out very nicely from the blue water. There are some hot areas on the "ears" though I think that is a minor issue. A slight turn of the head toward you would put this one over the top.

    Nice job Jim. The detail in the eared plumage is fantastic the way it is all fanned out so nicely. Once again I know how hard these guys are to capture as they never seem to stay still much less offer decent poses with decent lighting but you manged it well.
