    Default Lapwing in Flight

These are lively birds when they get going. I was lucky enough to catch this one as it came in for a close fly by. I only wish I had a faster shutter speed to reduce the wing blur. I'm learning the hard way photography BIF from a tripod. It certainly takes some practise !!. Comments always appreciated and thanks for looking.

Image has been processed in DPP and photoshop. Levels adjustment, small amount of canvas added to the bottom and USM. Full Frame

The bird is at a good angle to you, the face and beak look sharp enough, nice wing position and bg.

Without doubr a difficult bird to capture in flight. You did well. The cheek appears blown or at least without detail.

I like the little bit of blur on the wings. It doesn't always have to be sharp all around. I think your picture gives a bit motion feel, as it should. Sharp head, nice BG, overall great pic.

Very fast bird so well done to get it sharp where it needs to be. BG is a nice compliment.

Simply lovely! excellent action, light and bird. I donīt mind the blur at all, in fact it adds motion to the image, well done.

Sharp where it needs to be, and I like the bit of colours on the lower wing. Good wings down position too. Appealing green BG. Perhaps tone down the cheek a little, but not a deal breaker by any means.

    Great shot!!!
I really like the wing position and angle of the bird.
Nice background and sharp where it needs to be.
The whites on the cheek seem a bit hot.
    Well done.

Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback. Yes, the white cheeks were a bit blown if I'm honest so I ad tried to recover them, so perhaps I didn't go far enough with that. Tricky bird and very quick. Even though I missed the focus point on the head where dpp said it was on the far wing, the head was till sharp. I'm still trying to understand that.. Anyway, I was pretty pleased with the result though so thanks.
