Beautiful capture of the owl, love the colours and smooth BG. Wish the feet were more visible, good eye contact.

Awesome image Loi! Congrats, great IQ, eye contact and nice BG, I wish we could see the talons too, but no big deal really. Well done

    Loi,

Wonderful! The colors of the bg match very well with the owl. Very well presented vertically. Nice and upright :)

It's a western Burrowing Owl, right? They look just a tad bit different than what I've seen here in FL.

Super alert pose and great details you acquired here, Loi. Wish I could see its feet but cool pose overshadows this. Yellows appear clipped, it's a bit bright and a tad oversharpened to my eyes.

Everyone, thank you for your kind comments. Yes, too bad about the feet, but I'm happy to get the image.

Marina, for some reason, I boosted up the exposure in PP by 1/3 EV, perhaps I was doing PP on my lap top then. Also the image looks OK to me in higher resolution, but I agreed that it looks over-sharpened here. So I reduced the sharpening quite a bit here in the re-post.

    Thanks

    Loi

Yes, Miguel, this is a California Burrowing Owl. I would love to spend sometime in FL to see your Eastern Burowwing Owls. When and where would be the best time to see them? Thank you! Loi

The repost looks better, the colors are very nice. Love that direct stare.

I love the stance, looks like he's challenging you. Nice rework. Great image to have in your files.

Very nice angle and the repost works for me. I'm OK with no talons in this case as the eyes are what grabs the attention.

"Another Burrowing Owl image with David Salem."
I don't see David on the picture. Sorry, just kidding.
Excellent image, putting it to the middle works here.
