after a big kill
This collared Sparrow Hawk was breeding high up on my neighbours tree and was feeding the female while she nested very successfully. Preening in my garden in the evening light was a rare chance in dense tree cover.

Hi Ian
Like the interesting pose. The bird is a bit soft, can do with another round of sharpening. The BG I find a bit distracting, would darken and blur. Lose the little twig on lower right corner.

Love the fanned tail and pose in general.

Nice bird and pose. The background is a bit bright as pointed out by Andre. You handled the exposure well here. Shooting angle is a bit steep, but I would have taken the same shot too.

Love that fanned tail and your exposure on the bird looks good. Your point of focus appears to be on the bird's belly and at F4, there is no way your head could be sharp too b/c it's not on the same plane.

Thankyou all for your remarks. You know Marina the focus was on its breast but at f4 that was obviously just enough out of plane.
