Image taken this afternoon in my own garden-these colorful chaps like to perch on a tree branch right above the pond. I used spot metering. To process, I started in Lightroom then did quite a lot in Photoshop - it would take longer to write down the steps than it took me to edit, I'm afraid...

Apologies Miguel, I was still busy with text (tags) when my post was uploaded-possibly a slip of the finger, don't know...Here it is...Thank you for your message!
Thank you Miguel! I will begin by saying that I tried everything in Photoshop-by that I mean every single tool...Brightness curves exposure levels saturation...even filters...the background was green and very busy and my little subject was a bit "lost" among everything. Here's the original:
Gabriela, this is a striking image with nice HA, and when you posted the original IMO the BG is not distracting (maybe tone down the green leaves), and maybe a bit more shadow detail in tail feathers. Also think it might look good with a vertical crop closer around the Kingfisher. This is just a thought. Well done.
Image quality looks fine for such a huge crop. Would love to have seen the bird's head turned a bit more towards us. Lighting and BKGR are dramatically striking in the original post so well done on the image processing. Wish that the bit of perch in front of the bird had not been there....

Hi Gabriela, cool visitor to your garden, and I really like how you have brought out/ highlighted the KF in your OP. Showing your original shows how much work you did - well done for getting it right. If this were mine, I would blend away the faint green strips of foliage still visible in your OP.
Thank you Gentlemen for your feedback - I truly appreciate it! Stuart, I guess there is no need to repost, but I will certainly follow your advice re. foliage-thank you for pointing that out to me! I shall post at some stage more images of this Kingfisher...
I love the light bird against that dark background (BG). It's quite a moody. The vegetation on the left does a good job to help balance the image. Well done on all the PS work!!!
