Just playing in the yard. Lots of these guys here right now. Taken in the rain. Not the greatest of perches. :-)

Cute bird and lovely soft light Bonnie, I like the colors and the clean perch and nice BG.

Great bird and I think the light really helped. Very different to our Goldfinch in the UK.

Very nice, and a very clean specimen! Mine, down here NW of San Francisco, always look a little scruffy.

And I'm wondering if several species are starting to molt by now? They have looked messier the last couple of weeks, after a hot spell.

The rainy condition gives you these saturated colours. Nice pose and great details, Bonnie.

A nice image, Bonnie. The yellow against the green is a great combo. I like the feather detail, and the pose. The perch works fine for me--provides a nice diagonal in the composition. The red in the BG under the left end of the perch is slightly distracting.

Very attractive Bonnie. That green b/g displays him so well. As mentioned the weather was working for you in this shot.

The perch may have a plain texture to it, but I like the curves in it, and the wet look has helped too. Very appealing BG. The subject is properly exposed and well detailed...just wish for a better head angle relative to body angle (even if the head is parallel to the sensor here). I also think the image is a little "cyan" on the yellows.
