I wish I had cloned out the leaves in the BG and FG but am just not good at it! am looking for easy way of cloning without messing up the image!!
Handheld at low level with 7D and 100-400. These birds are quiet skittish and shy and rarely get out of the thick cover of trees. Its a hot summer here and this guy was looking for water from a garden hose.

Great looking bird, Sanjeev! Excellent details and I like the light as it falls on it. The leaves do not bother me, but I would consider taking a bit off of the top—my eye gets distracted by the contrast there.

Very unique looking bird that I have never seen. Looks nice and sharp and exposed well. Love the rusty wings and the piercing red eyes. I agree with Bonnie and would crop almost all the light color on the top. Nice.

Hi Sanjeev. After coming back to your post I decided to clean up the leaves and crop from the top. Used the clone tool and it took only a few mins. I also posted at the new larger size so it might need some more sharpening. My first time trying this.
Hope you dont mind. Keep playing with the clone tool and it will become your best friend.

    Hi Sanjeev:
Magnificent image of coucal. Re post by David is absolutely superb.
Love the pose with nice HA,colors and details.
I use "PhotScape" (free down load) for cloning work, which is easy and some time clone tool in PS5.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Our Coucals in South Africa look drab next to yours, Sanjeev! I do like the second version more, it certainly puts emphasis on the subject but unfortunately it seems to have lost a tad of its sharpness, in my humble opinion. The leaf did not bother me one bit...Lovely pose indeed and the colours are amazing Looking forward to more from you!

    Kind regards

    Gabriela

Thank you all! David, your RP with the clone tool is remarkable and the image looks great after that. Though Gabriela has a point, it gives me more reason to try the clone tool again. Thanks for helping me out David. Cheers

Great looking bird, Sanjeev. I meant to say that the top bright part of the background could be darkened.
David's repost took care of this issue very nicely.

I really like the walking pose and shooting angle.
