    This was taken last week at Point Pelee NP. I believe it is a Swamp Sparrow. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

    Jim;

    I like the singing pose, perching pose, catchlight. Nice bg.

    I might experiment with the large reed removed, or toned down. It rather acts as a visual stop for me. Nice as is, worth a peek at a tweak.

    Cheers

    The second is wonderful! Really shows the size of this little guy, who probably thinks he's HUGE.

    Nice shooting and great processing.

    Jim, looked at this briefly an hour ago on my Ipad and thought the same thing, remove the branch on the left. Looking at it on my computer I can see that the sparrow looks great with a nice calling pose, crest up and a great perch. Like the vertical comp too. Nice!!

    Love the size of the subject in the frame. The well lit swamp sparrow, singing, crest erect....really nice Jim.
    Great job with processing, and I do prefer the repost. I miss the bird's tail, but that's minor here.

    I am not looking the previous comments but as soon as I saw your original post I guessed someone would suggest remove the stem. I like both versions but the first one looks more credible to me. Lovely details ad exposure and to see him calling makes all the difference.

    Jim:

    I do prefer the repost over the original, but still could see a version with the left reed present but softened considerably. The fun of digital photography, you can learn a lot about composition by playing with the elements in the frame.

    Excellent image, Jim. Love the singing pose and perch.
    I'm going back for the sake of this bird, the Marsh Wren and a possible Black Tern in flight next week.
