These are the most common local gull through the winter and early spring. I spend a lot of time searching through the flocks for the rarer Mediterranean gulls. However, I always think you should never ignore the beauty in the familar and they make good flight shot practice, especially if you have a loaf of bread to hand :)

Really nice shot. The crisp focus and the detail are spectacular and the wing position is one seldom seen in a photo. Black-headed Gulls show up on our side of the pond occasionally, but I've never seen one in this immaculate alternate plumage. Just a super shot!
