I've been going to Merritt Island for the last 3 years always looking for Spoonbills and it's only this year that I've managed to see them. Taken on Black Point Drive in early morning light.

Never seen this good a reflection of a spoonie. Luck you! Lovely pose and details. I am seeing a slight magenta cast in the blues and the reds look a little hot on the bird, but maybe it was the light.. Image needs a little CW rotation. Bird should line up exactly with the reflection. If you draw a line down from the beak to the beak reflection, you will see that they are slightly off.

    Ramon:

wonderful reflection, as Marina commented, not something you normally get with spoonies.

Agree about the very slight rotation.

    Cheers

Wow, this is beautiful. You took full advantage of this opportunity and made a great image. Marina's tweaks will make it even better.

Hi Ramon, exquisite light, and just love the relaxed pose. The reflection is pretty much near to being able to invert the image, and you wouldnt know which was which. Another vote for rotation.

    Ooh Ramon...
I would love this one in my files. I haven't seen a shot like this with such a nice reflection.
I see some 2 smudges ( dust spots) above the shoulder that I would remove. I see the magenta cast in the blues as well and would get rid of that.
    The light is beautiful.
    A winner for sure,
    Gail

Gorgeous bird in early light -- I'm OK with the reds for that reason. Can't beat that reflection and seamless fg/bg. Rotation noted. Well done.

    Ramon,

Couldn't have asked for any better light! Nicely captured and wonderful reflection!

Great tip from Marina about the rotation. I'll be putting that in my back pocket.

Great shot of a favorite of mine, I really like the head position and of course the very nice reflection. Excellent job.

If you are looking for spoonbills you need to come to High Island, Texas as they are all over the place. In April & May it is nesting season so you can see eggs and chicks as well.

Marina, you have a very good eye and fantastic advise on lining up the beak. I will tweak it per your suggestions and will try to repost.

Thank you everyone, appreciate your comments.
