    Default Pasque Flower

This is one of our earliest flowers up here in the mountains and usually in time for Easter (Pasque means Easter). But Easter was early this year and snow covered the ground for all of April. So now with sun and spring warmth, the Pasque Flowers are fairly jumping out of the ground! It was a great morning for photography with light clouds. I got home before the afternoon thunderstorms moved through.

Beautiful composition, Nancy. Love those colors and the lighting! Your processing really makes it stand out. TFS.

Nancy, this is a little different for you but I love it!! When I first looked at it I thought you had used Fractalius but I love the effect you got with the filters. Very, very nice

Hi Nancy, very nice job with the flowers! I like the way the splash of yellow on the left balances the fact that the flower on the right is larger in the frame. This balance makes for a very engaging image.

Thank you everyone. I am grateful for all the filters because I am a terrible painter and I would be so frustrated if I could not somehow capture the delicate colors and textures of flowers, etc.

The details you brought out in the yellow center of the left flower are lovely. I love the lines and fluffies also--very nice. I think the larger flower on the right overpowers the beautiful flower on the left, but I don't have suggestions for dealing with it. Excellent filter work.

The larger flower on the right is actually 2 flowers. I wanted a lot of that soft purple in the image but another approach would be to have those flowers more in the bkgd with less detail. If the wind ever stops blowing I will go out and look for an arrangement like that.

The wind does make photographing flowers a challenge.
