A marvelous sunset from last year's autumn on a local farmyard...

    Your thoughts are most welcome.
I blended 2 exposures using the gradient masking tool in Photoshop (it was the easiest way due to the clear horizon band with nothing protruding into the top part of the exposure).

    Techs:
    Nikon D3s
    Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8 @ 17mm
    f11 | ISO-200

    Hi Morkel.

Simple, but very nice... colours are all very complimentary in a nicely balance comp.. The horizon is not level but I guessing there is a slope in the plain. Only horizons on the ocean are level...

Thanks Don. I should have stated that this area is pretty much all undulating grassland hillocks.
I leveld using the positioning of the bale and the immediate foreground layout.

Morkel - Beautiful clouds and colors. I like the placement of the bale as well. It all works for me.

A very arresting image Morkel and the hay bale anchors things nicely. Cracking skyline!

Try adding a Levels adjustment of 226, just before the whites blow, mask and paint in the FG and arching grass, it just lifts things overall, then a channel overlay for the sky, it just enrichens it.

Hi Morkel, gorgeous color in the sky...love the way the clouds are moving diagonally to the upper right corner and the tone of the dried grasses and bale are perfect. Nicely done! I don't get to shoot hay bales over this way until late July or August.

Excellent scene, love the mood here, lovely rich coloured clouds and good blending. I think a bit more space on the left would have been nice but love warm light ESP in the FG, nice work Morkel.
