My 100-400 is my "go to" lens when I go for a walk with hubby and I promise not to take more than a minute or two to take a shot! Yeah, right...I think I caught up to him about 45 minutes later.
    He is a tolerant man!!

Excellent shot Gail! I like the low POV, great IQ, perfect HA and wing position! I use the 500 II but like you I like to carry my 100-400 as a walk around for casual birding! Have thought of selling it but can't get to parting with it!

I love how happy the bird is to see you Gail. I really like the colors of the BG and pebbles. The bird is nice and sharp and the wing detail is really eye catching.

Love the upright wings in this shot, feet off the ground also add nicely. This image would also put a smile on my face, excellent stuff Gail.

I love this, Gail. Excellent techniques and an absolutely wonderful pose by your little best friend. I might be tempted to trim just a bit off the bottom, but not sure 'bout that. I love the way you caught him with both feet in the air.

Gail this is a wonderful shot!

I just added the Snowy Plover to my life list last week, but didn't do it in such a dynamic way as you have presented here!

Both feet off the ground with the wings spread, nicely done!

Very nice and unique wings up pose you have captured here. Nicely exposed and very clean and sharp detail, especially the head, and I love the little feet off the ground. Great looking BG too. I might take off some from the bottom to lessen the oof FG. Well done

Thank you all for your positive comments.
I am at work but am pretty sure my SS was 1/2500 at f 7.1. I'm sorry I forgot to post the exif. I don't usually forget.

Hi Gail, I will have to have a word with Elwood. Love the low perspective, and great timing to capture the raised wings. Well exposed, sharp, and with both tiny feet off the ground, its puts this over the top.

My 100-400 is my only go to lens.
